The Rover-Landers of BC

So im getting to the point in my project where I've got to think about the bumper.. Also getting to the point i gotta save every penny to make it to the end.

My truck is a series 2a 109 sitting on a range rover classic chassis.

From my expert eyeballing, of my chassis and the beat up series bumper that i have, I may be able to mount the bumper by drilling holes to match the rrc bumper mounts into the bit of metal on the sides of the bumber where it would normally mount vertically through the chassis.

I'd have to grind off or remove the bottom normal mounting 'tab'. (maybe i can bend it enough to work).

So the question is... Will this one bit of metal on each side be a secure enough mount for the bumper, especially if i end up using tbe recovery points on the bumper at some point.

I had the same issue as you. The RRC frame rail is about 1/2” taller and slightly narrower than the Series frame rail was. What I did was take two, 3x4 rectangular steel tube by 3 inches long, weld one end closed, then cut back the underside of the open end by 2 inches, slid it onto the frame rail and welded in place. I also drilled two bumper mounting holes in each and welded in 9/16 ID tubes for extra strength. That might have been a bit of overkill though. :lol:

I had thought about something like that, but i dont weld.
Wondering if i could just bolt a small bit of box section to the existing rrc mounting holes then drill holes to mount the series bumper. May space if forward further than i want though...
