The Rover-Landers of BC

I am planning on sandblasting and repainting the rims on my series 3. In the past I have used automotive paint (usually a 2 part paint such as Endura). I am wondering if there are better (more durable) options. Has anyone tried powder coating or POR with any success? Any other options worth considering?

Some guys are galvanizing them with good results.
