hey there. I'm new to the forum but not new to the Land rover vehicle owning. for the past year I have bought and sold 3 disco's to get to this on my build. my only problem is that my tub is super rusty. i have bought a minty running and driving unit with only 130xxx kms on it with no rust.
my current build
my new unit i will be building.
I have got all new suspension from various companies and other great components to make the new land rover even better then the last one.
if anyone is interested in seeing how my newest build goes on I will post more!
thanks for clicking in and keep the Rover landers alive!
cheers.

Thanks man! Currently it’s sitting on 35” tires. However the new unit will be sitting on 37/38” tires depending what I get my hands on. Once I get it in my shop I’ll be taking some photos and moving on the forum 🤟

Interested to hear why you figure you need 37/38 tall tires and what your plans are for beefing up the drivetrain is.

A lot of people get into that debate with land rover axles. how ever I haven't had any issues with 35" tires with just the generic Hardy CV and shafts. all my friends with toyota's/suzuki's are on 37/40" tires and sometimes its hard to keep up. saying that though the 35" tires have been great and don't regret the choice . its just the matter of making it for the matter of fun.
I've got purchased and in the shop full 300M ashcroft shafts and CV's with heavy duty drift flanges and 4.75 ring and pinions. ARB lockers front and back that i will be pegging the 3rd members. it should push the 37's quite nicely . i also will be bracing the housing externally to prevent any bend on wheeling the truck. Also all the suspension stuff is all been changed out and same with the Driveshafts. should be fun!

the end goal for the first land rover. running and driving stock with 2" spacer lift on 35" tires. going to bring it up to my cabin and use it for a bush truck up there/spare parts.

Portal Boxes! now I am jealous!
sweet build for sure!
how did you make sure you didnt warp or bend your axle housings with all the welding on the tubes for the truss work?
how do the swivel ball housings hold up to that much extra weight and leverage being thrown on them?

I have been a welder/fabricator for a long time now so its just from experience. However! bracing and small lengths and in sections help minimize the chance of warpage.
The portal boxes come with a brace that holds the bottom in place, pictures will be coming soon!! Stay tuned haha.
