The Rover-Landers of BC

I found some Land Rover 109’s at a farm on saltspring island. Im not sure the year, they’ve been sitting for quite a while. Owner is wondering what they’re worth.

Very sad to see these beautiful Land Rovers rotting away, but unfortunately to bring these back to a usable life you're talking around 8k-12K and hundreds of labour hours.
They likely need a new chassis, a new Bulkhead, an engine rebuild, rewiring, new brakes, new interior seats .... and that's just for starters.
They will need a trailer on and off the ferry to collect them.

If willing to trailer them off the Island, clean them all up and strip for parts, the labour & cost involved would be more than the value of the parts.

The best Scenario is they go free to an enthusiast who is willing to put in the labour and money to save and restore them.

So to finally answer your question, If they have the correct paper work and to the right person who has the time, space and money to do something with them, they are are worth around $100-$250 (in my opinion), if no paperwork then they basically have no value.

Their condition and location definitely lowers the value as the cost to retrieve them is high and the likelihood of their frames and bulkheads being sound is poor.

Beautiful trucks to see restored, but huge work as Andy notes.

The two pickup cabs are desirable parts that can bring decent money, but it’s unlikely that parting them would be a money making venture, and a shame to see complete trucks parted out if rebuilding them is still an option.

Getting them checked out more thoroughly would be the first step in determining how to proceed, but value isn’t high in terms of cash value as they sit any way you look at it.

The red one has a pretty rough frame so I don't think its really salvageable. The cream colours one looked decent and frame was in good shape.
They both have registration apparently.

Are they just looking to understand what they’re worth or thinking they should actually sell? I would be interested in one of the pickup cabs, but I’m new to all this and couldn’t tell you what one in that condition is worth.

Id buy a truck cab. Happy to pick up and remove im close by.

The owner also had a S2 88". Its in slightly better state than the LWB's, but the engine is siezed.

I’d say those truck cabs are probably around 500$ depending on shape. The windshield is separate not sure why you would sell those together.

In my books, a truck cab in great shape might be $500. Those likely need a lot of work. More like $100-200 each. Given what we can see from the pics, and that they are in a very damp salty environment, each truck is likely not worth a whole lot more than that complete. Just my 2 cents... :shock:
