Hello all , I am looking for the clutch shaft bell housing grommet . My bell housing has a hole on both sides for right or left hand drive so I am looking for the grommet to cover the un-used side. Cheers Robin

Sorry , forgot to say it's for a series one gearbox although not sure if the series 2 or 2-A would be the same. Thanks

Yes, quite hard to find and when you do they are really expensive - Part no. 232604

The other grommet with the hole for the shaft is much easier to find and cheaper, I've been considering just getting one of those and gluing a piece of rubber in the hole. Its just a blanking grommet to keep the dust out. But, If you do find a source let me know.

FYI -

Cut a piece of thick black plastic or nylon to shape and silicone it in using a permanent silicone glue (not caulking). That is what I did 20 odd years ago (the grommets were impossible to find even then) on the advise of Dunsfold (S1 specialist in the UK).

last year when I rebuilt the transmission it was still solidly glued on. Hmm. You could even use a piece of aluminum, cut to shape and glued in. No need to ever remove it again.

If you search the part number Andy provided, they are available but not readily in stock at most vendors. Easily found in the UK if you are placing an order, but they are expensive for what they are, so making a plug yourself is a cheaper option.
If you want it factory original, then you’re looking at ordering in most likely.
