Parts of body were in worse shape than the chassis, lots of galvanic corrosion in the rear so it had to come off to be repaired. I had a container coming anyway so we brought a galvanized chassis over. The existing chassis turned out to be in decent shape except for the crossmember but the opportunity to swap on to a galv chassis was one that had to be taken!

Price drop 900!
More photos
This is a great candidate for fresh frame.
New crossmember $1000
Welding and sandblasting $500
Galvanizing $400
For half the cost of a third party galv frame from the UK you can have an original Land Rover chassis

It might be hard to sell this one. I had a rust free 1995 chassis with a bad dent above the front wheel only. It took a long time to sell at $800. The new rear crossmember is orderable of course, and should be less than $1000 as landed Britpart steel..
A few good chassis have had to be cut up and scrapped here due to lack of buyers.

True, but that would be a waste! I'll keep lowering the price and if it doesn't sell I'll rebuild and galvanize it :)
