2004 Discovery 2 Worth Parting Out?

I have been "gifted" a 2004 Discovery 2... It has a knackered V8, as usual, but other then that the thing is in great shape! So I thought. I was going to pull the V8 out and convert to a 300Tdi. A fun summer project... However I finally crawled under the truck and shock and awe the frame is dust... So scrap that project...

Now I'm faced with either calling Pick N Pull and getting $60 for it or see if anyone wants parts off of this thing and try to make lemon aid so to speak out of this....

Is this thing worth parting out?

Does anyone want anything out of this truck?

It's in Kelowna BC.

Let me know!

Andrew

Hello Andrew! I just bought a Disco 2 and am very interested in a few parts to register mine in BC from Alberta. Please get back to me ASAP. I will not lowball you or resell online. I'll drive my disco to you and show you what I need. Bring my own tools of course. Cheers!

There are quite a few parts on the D2 that would be worth keeping if you have the space to store them... some of the more "valuable parts" include the engine crank sensor, the coil packs, the power steering pump (if it isn't leaking), the front drive shaft (especially if it has been upgraded with greasable u-joints) , the tranny and transfer case (to replace one ruined by a flailing front drive-shaft that had the non-greasable u-joints fail), onboard computer boxes, power window motors, radiator (if it's sound), water pump (will fit other rover v8s), front lights, bumper and grill (lots of people like the look and it retro-fits onto older Disco2s), the interior rearview mirror (as for some reason Disc mirrors go missing), the seat control switches, the power window switch panel, the Cats (work $$$ as scrap), front hub assembly and calipers (if good), front ABS sensors, tail lights (particularly those in the bumper that always get trashed when dragging the disco 2's long backside through tank traps)... sometimes the sum of the parts is great than the whole!

Cheers, Rob

What colour is the interior? I might be interested in the complete dash.

I ended up buying all the parts, and dragging it up the hill. Keeping most of it, but if anyone is hurting for some things, drop me a PM. I’d be happy to help.
