This is a genuine military ambulance box built for the 109" Series Land Rover chassis by Marshalls of Cambridge. They are instantly recognisable by the cut off tail, designed to improve departure angles off road. It is known in military speak as the 'Body Ambulance 2/4 Stretcher Type FV18073' and features a lightweight aluminum, insulated double-skinned construction. The quality of the coachwork has made them hugely popular for camper, overland conversions - the ultimate go anywhere vehicle.
This box I have for sale was used on an ambulance that had been in service since July 1972 by the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, a line infantry regiment of the British army that existed from 1881
