Quick question for anyone with experience importing a vehicle into Canada. Does a person need to put tax on it when bringing it into the country?
Say I buy a LR overseas and ship it here. I’ll have already paid tax on it where I bought it. Seems absurd that I’d be double taxed upon bringing it here. But then again, this is Canada lol.
Some sites say yes the taxes are also paid here. Some say no. Any experience with this??

Re: Importing a Vehicle
GST when you cross the border with it.
PST when you license it (assuming in BC).
If you're exporting it, you won't pay VAT... if its coming from Europe.

If you paid VAT you can apply to get it refunded.
