My friend George Stewart is selling this 1972 Series III '88' Land Rover that has been his daily driver for ten years since purchased in Vermont. 'Dorothy' has never hit it off very well with his wife. Parting with this truck is the lesser of two evils. Vehicle is located in Vancouver Canada.

Good Stuff

This is a very well equipped vehicle.

1. Galvanized Marsland Chassis.
2. Five main Bearing petrol engine from 1983 model with mildly ported cylinder head, Weber carburetor and Ducilier distributor.
3. Original four speed all synchromesh gearbox is fitted with a ROAMERDRIVE overdrive and finned transfer case cooler so no trouble keeping up with highway traffic.
4. 16 inch rims with good tires.
5. Rocky Mountain Parabolic springs with Pro Comp shocks really improve the ride and off road capability. Front axle swivels have good chrome.
6. Doors are fitted with extruded aluminum RM door tops so glass slides both ways and improves visibility and ventilation.
7 Galvanized 2" square tow hitch on drop plate so you can tow a boat to your favorite mountain fishing lake.
8 High torque starter spins engine in the coldest weather.
8 Molded IRON GOAT door trims look nice and prevent rodents from squatting inside front doors.
9 Sliding (not fixed) windows in rear tub.
10 Newish brakes all round with new master cylinder and vacuum actuator

Downsides

1. Crease in right front fender due to berserk fire hydrant. Small dent in front bumper.
2. Original bronze green paint complimented with artistic brush work in some areas.
3. Original plastic fascia with cracked patina.
4. Rust splodges around door trim.
5. Shabby drivers seat and headliner
6. The usual oil drips.
7. The 'speedy' look roof rack (unlikely to survive the desert south of Marrakesh) is included but currently not on the truck.
8. Missing apron under grille

As the vehicle runs and drive well this is a great restoration project allowing you to concentrate on bringing the bodywork to pristine condition and doubling the value of the vehicle with minimal work on the running gear.
