1968 Series 2a 109 NADA - 34300757

Purchased Landy757 from a fellow near Amstrong BC. Originally imported & sold by a dealer in Vancouver in late 1968 as Marin Blue. Somewhere along the line the Rover engine was replaced by a 1974-ish Chevy 250. Some evidence that this was owned by a Jim Skelton, member of Roverlanders and 4WD Assoc of BC. Does anyone know any history on this LR? After a lot of abuse and neglect over its years, its time for a complete refresh. Tore it down to the chassis which had to be thrown away due to extensive rot. Restroing all the parts I can. New chassis on order soon! (does anyone want to share in a container from the UK?). Here are some pics from the beginning to where i am now.

Thanks Oldgravy. When would you bring the chassis in? From where? Ideally I could find someone to share a container with and fit in as much as we could.

I have no idea. I have no contacts, no knowledge, and ever fewer skills. I am hoping to piggy back off of someone's order. All I know is I need a chassis!

I keep thinking about getting a chassis from designa... Not sure what the wait time is like... Might be interested in getting in on a container

Looks great. You are missing the tabs for the steering stop. They mount at the flange end of the swivel ball/axle case.

Thanks Andy - it's coming together, slowly.

I got the tires from OTRUSA.com (https://www.otrusa.com/shop/passenger-l ... n-ms-tl-2/). Reasonable price and they arrived within 2 weeks. I was going for looks more than performance, so the results of that decision are TBD.

Exactly the tires I need for my truck, thanks

I had the 292 in my 109 NADA, to much engine for the tranny, always thought the 250 was the perfect 109 engine, Landrover should have bought it and built it under licence.

Wow! Very nice work! I am starting on my 109 VIN #34300075A. I am disassembled to the frame, Axles, Engine(Chevy inline 6 running great) and Gear box. My bulkhead is getting new foot wells etc. I have new sills just shipped in from the uk (NOT HAPPY WITH THE SHIPPING AT ALL). My frame is getting a new bumper and the out riggers are going to get some love and attention (Small Patches). There will be lots of body work then I might start on the second 109 I have (2 -Door)

HI Marc - no I cut it up as it was so far gone (rotten). Replaced it with a new Richard's Chassis.

This is Jim Skelton. Glad to see "Blue Weaver" is being restored. Had some wonderful times with it. I loved the fact that with its Range Rover differentials, I could get to far distant places (e.g. Moab) in decent time, without holding up traffic too much.
