New 1964 lol , unfortunately iam going to be afraid to take it anywhere , that's until the first scratch I guess. Still lots to do yet , going to have to decide whether to fix the tropical top I have for it or go with a canvas top . Pros and cons to both I guess .

Amazing build Troy!!
Shared this with my Son Pieter. Hope to inspire him to get back on our 1966 Series 2a, Tweety.
Can't wait to see it finished!
Thanks,
Don

Decided that I didn't want vinyl seats so I am in the process of building my own seats I finished the middle back this weekend except for the wood trim on the back and thought I would share . I made the seat backs out of stainless ,and the seat bases out of maple plywood . I put aluminum screen over the holes to keep the critters out , burlap on the sharp edges then the automotive foam then batting over that and then the seat material. The material is lawn furniture fabric , it's water , UV ,mold resistant . The brown looks good against the sand and hopefully I won't get all sweaty while driving it . Iam pretty happy how it turned out considering I have no idea what iam doing lol . The wife was a huge help with the fabric . 5 more to go .

Very nice work, they came out great! The screens are a great idea  to keep the mice out
Just curious, did you consider using Aluminum instead of Stainless? Mainly due for easier cutting and weight reasons.

After I cut out the stainless I thought about it lol , one nice thing about the stainless is I brushed it with scotchbrite and it will stay like that for along time , aluminum after awhile will start going frosty when left raw . They are heavier though but only by a few pounds . We use alot of stainless at work also so I was able to get it really cheap , zip cut and a roto broach I had them cut out in no time .

Was able to put the gate , marker lights and mirrors on . I bought lightweight mirror arms years ago so I decided to use those , they are a little long , not sure if I like them , maybe won't be as bad with the tire on the hood . What do you guys think .

I wonder if you slide the mirror part down the support a couple of inches, maybe they wouldn't look so long?
Quite often you see the mirrors moved to the door hinge locations as they don't vibrate as much and a rubber blanking grommet put into hole in the fenders
