Oct 20 fall cleanup

#1 Post by chilliwack » Mon Sep 10, 2007 9:13 am

Just wondering what the typical weather is for the Oct 20 fall cleanup

I'm a driving a slightly modified Disco I, and we have a couple of guys from work interested in coming along. (Jeep Rubicon  & lifted suzuki)

We were thinking of heading up Friday night, and wanted info where to meet up

Regards, Roger

Hi Roger,
You can expect cold temperatures, horizontal rain and sleat, low visability and maybe even snow that makes the trip impassable. On the other hand it could be a beautiful clear sunny run through high alpine meadows and pleasant temperatures. Shawn Doherty is the contact man for all the official clean-up runs and I am sure he will dial in and offer his opinion. Weather forecasting in the mountains of BC's southern interior is at best alchemy so it is best to assess the overall weather in the week of the run and make your best guess then.

Hi Roger ,This is typical high mountain weather I would expect very cold and severe conditions so dress for winter. I have been up there the last two weekends and it was below freezing at night. On this run we will be traveling from North to South as I like to alternate directions each time. We will meet at Granite City campsite either on Friday night or Sat morning departing by 10:00 am Saturday morning. Your friends are very welcome. If you have any more questons please feel free to post.

I'm planning on making it to this run. This time with a functioning winch and proper RF capability!
