Suggestions for performance Disco1 exhaust

Despite my wish for a diesel engine, I just don't think it's going to happen. I figure I'll end up rebuilding the 3.9 at some point and am in need of a new exhaust right now...figure it's time for a good performance system.

I just starting googling a few minutes ago, systems like this one are available out of the box:

however, I'm not sure if it's worth replacing the Y pipe/cats if the cats are still functional and there's little flow advantage in an aftermarket unit. What i'd like to do is cut the pipes after the cat's before they Y together and have a shop do a true dual out the back. Has anyone heard of someone doing a true dual set up on a Disco? Is it worth it? I'm having a hard time finding any sound clips of any exhausts. Can anyone suggest a reputable exhaust shop in the Okanagan...someone good at custom work.

Kirk at Five Corners Automotive in Summerland is very good with pipe.

However, I would recommend you keep a stock system. True performance improvement would require many changes. Wait till you have a plan before you invest in the exhaust.

I would have agreed with NRP until at about 15K one cat blew out the back.

might go with the cat back nrp system...just wondering if anyone has a sound clip?

I noticed Borla has a cat back system for disco 1's for about about the same money...guessing it probably isn't quite as vehicle specific though.

Well, bit the bullet and had a cat back system done up at jerry's muffler in Kelowna. 2.5 w/flowmaster muffler. It sounds really nice, pretty quiet but actually sounds like a v8. All in it cost me $360 which ain't bad.
