Well Its that time again, If my truck fails as i think it will, the cats look original and the disco is a 96. Does anyone no if you can run after market cat, or do you have to stay with the stock discovery cats. if so what kind of price am I looking at. thinking I may as well redo the entire exhaust and put flow-master on.
Cheers

Cats have nine lives.....
Hi Andrew,
Dont be to quick to write off your cats, my experience is they last a long time and have to be falling apart before being the reason to fail aircare.
My cats are still original 1991, full of long screws to stop them rattling, they have not had an easy life but still easy pass aircare.
More likely to be the oxygen sensors or head gasket.
As an additional note, Aircare reg's have all changed on Jan 1st, you may not need to have you Disco aircared so soon.
good luck,
Andy

Took the disco to North Van air care and as you said I had no problems getting threw Air Care.
I guess it pays to be the second owner of the disco with full service history.
All the readings where below the half way mark. I couldn't believe it.
I guess i will put a new cat back system on with the money I set aside.
Cheers
