Well I'm not sure how many of you know about the 2.5 petrol engine that I build using a 2.5NA diesel short block and the rest of the parts off of a 2.25 five main petrol but it ran great. I've got another hair brianed idea that has been bugging me for years so I'm going to give it a go.
Many of the ex BATUS 90/110s have 2.5NA diesels that are infact 2.5TD 19J blocks. I'm going to get one and add the Turbo system off of the 19J but leave the stock NA injection pump on the engine. I'll then add a propane injection system. I hope to end up with an engine that runs at least as well as a 2.5NA at sealevel when it is up in the mountians at 7000ft... on top of that I hope to use the propane to give it a bit of extra power and to increase the fuel mileage.
So am I nuts? Every one including Turner enginering in the UK said that I couldn't do the 2.5 diesel 2.25 gas combination at the time... maybe this new franken engine will work out to ;)

Might not need to do this experiment right now... just came in from the garage where I've been buggering around with the dead 19J I picked up a short time ago and it turns out it is not dead, sick maybe but not dead. I replaced one dead glow plug and put fuel and power to it while it was hanging on my hoist and boom... it lives! :yay :yay :yay
