rust repair

Hey,

I have a 1992 RRC SWB county that has some rust on the floorpans. I'm looking to get the rust repaired anyone have any suggestions for shops in the lower mainland or individuals interested in repairing rust?

From what I have encountered, no one wants to repair rust any more. I have had that issue with a few cars now so I ended up welding myself.
All shops seem to only do crash repairs. I have been told they only want ro do crash repairs as they are easy and do not turn into a major project.

Essentially my RRC is currently registered in Alberta and I am looking to get it transfered over to BC in the next few months.
I 've already been given a list of fixes( new tires,windshei ld ect.) that must be done and my foot wells and my driver side inner wing are the primary rust spots that I need fixed in order to pass inspection.

There isn't really any easy fix when it comes to rust repair of floors. In the past, I've used sheet aluminum and roofing tar, either riveting on the aluminum or using self tapping screws to fit to body steel.

That has allowed me to pass safety, as there are no longer any holes in the body. It's a temporary fix, of course, maybe look around and see what's available in aftermarket steel floor assemblies from Britpart, YRM, SP landrover, and order the proper part in.

You'll want to be doing a proper steel replacement during winter layup, if the truck will be unused then.

Proper steel replacement will be expensive labour with cutting and welding if you don't do it yourself.
