Series I spotted just down the road from me
There's a fellow I know who mentioned he had an old Landrover in his backyard. I said I'd like to have a look. He says it's a 1948 but he wasn't sure. Shes all there but in pretty rough shape. The frame seems intact with no major damage other than surface rust. The box isn't attached and feels weak and wobbly. Maybe just needs to be fastened. Can't say too much more about it. I said I may make an offer but I've no idea what these are worth in BC. Anyway, I just thought you guys would like to see some pics.

Hard to say without knowing the year. Did you take a pic of the vin plate under the dash? That way you can figure out the year.
I've paid as low as a hundred bucks for a rolling chassis and body with no drivetrain and as much as $5K for a nice original running series 1. Granted, those were 86" trucks (1954-57). A 1948 truck (80") would be worth more but I suspect this is an 86". If it rolls and is relatively complete and the frame is solid I'd offer him about $600.

Haha yeah, your exactly at what I was thinking. But the question is, do I have time for another? I'm just starting a 1970 IIa this week. I'll post a build log soon. Just sourcing the myriad of parts I need.
Oh, Ill see if I can get the Series I vin this weekend. And more pics.

I'm no expert, but doesn't it look like a 107"? (judging by the height of the tub to the doors)

Oh that's cool, if it's a 107 I am interested. I don't have a 107 and have always wanted one.

Year is between 54 & 58. No older than a 54.
Cheers, Dave

Re: Series I spotted just down the road from me
Looks like an S1 107 or 109 to me. Making it, as Dave mentioned, a 54-58.
Hmmm. Can I afford another S1 project (afford the grief from the wife, that is....)

If it's a 107 I could trade someone one (or a couple - depending on condition) of 86"s for it.

It's a 107. It's not actually for sale right now. I'm trying to get him to part with it but he is out of town for a bit. Hard to get side pics because it's parked between a trailer and a fence and the ducks were attacking me.
Oh, there is no vin plate on the dash so I presume its lost.

Ok, Carl is back home and is willing to sell the 107 at $1200. I cannot take it because I'm moving to a new shop and have too many projects already. If anyone is interested, pm me for his phone number. Again, its located just south of Salmon Arm.

Wow, 2 S1 pickups for sale at the same time. Someone could "pick up" both of them and make one good one out them. :bounce: :bounce:
