Pol Roger unveils Defender project

#1 Post by Lumber-Jack » Mon Apr 20, 2015 10:12 am

Pol Roger, the famous Champagne house, had teamed up with Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations to create a great looking Defender. The Pol Roger Land Rover has been created as a mobile bar for exclusive events to showcase Pol Roger's Portfolio of Champagne and spirits. It's based on the 2-door Defender 110 open-top pickup, painted dark blue with contrasting canvas top with an attachable awning. Inside it features teak wood flooring throughout, and covering the entire rear bed and side facing bench style seating. The front seats have been upholstered with vintage map designed covers that are also featured as trim on the door handles and front grab bar. The interior and center stack also feature dark blue accents which match the exterior.

Nicely understated.

I like the white rims.

I like the fact it is full of booze.

Tempted to build one as the sensible understated partner to the orange machine. :D

I don't get it... I always thought the series/defender rovers were the working man's (woman's) utility vehicle... when did they become status symbols for the wine crowd? Please, someone dent a fender and throw some mud on those tires for the love of god... it still leaks oil right?

There was a great Richard Hammond spot on Land Rovers that explained it well. " A Land Rover is classless. You can work the land or you can own the land."

More eloquently said than what I would have come up with. Cheers.

If Pol Roger can cart around thousands of Euros of fine drinks in a vehicle similar to mine, I suppose I shouldn't worry about the security of my stuff. I suppose it depends on where you park it.
