Whipsaw Trail, Again

#1 Post by derek n » Mon Sep 05, 2005 1:13 pm

8) Hi all!
I would really like to get back up to the Whipsaw once agin and it looks like this coming weekend 10/11 Sept. is the last weekend for me before I start into a very busy fall and winter. Are there a few of you who would like to join me? I'm planning on doing a little work up there plus I am planning to push through on Sunday so that I would be able to catch the 7 pm ferry back to the island. That means that we would be all the way through by 1300-1330. I would surely like to block off a few of those high meadow wet lands that have been destroyed by the indiscriminate drivers that have been known to drive in there single synaptic fashion.
Leave Granite city at 1000 hrs Saturday with a cleanup at Loadstone and beyond, then an early start from Wells say 0830-0900 hrs on Sunday.
Hope this happens! There is nothing on the RL schedule for that weekend.
Cheers
Derek

Hi Derek (and potential whipsaw participants),

Just got your message - I have some scheduling problems - with just a week left in town can’t confirm my availability for next weekend.

An Offer from Land Rover to instruct in California earlier than expected has left me really short of time to get things organized at home. After California, LR moves to Chicago, NY and in October, Miami. Sadly, I may have seen my last whipsaw run for this year  . Hope you’re still able to make it.

I'm in Chicago at a conference this weekend, so no go from my end, however I had an enjoyable evening with Jim Skelton last night and he's going to be hosting the Okanagan run on the last weekend of September. You should try and keep that date open if you can.

 Well after dicussing this with Shawn (the only other Roverlander who wanted to go) I've decided to cancel this weekends Whipsaw run. Too many things going on with the preps for the 4WDABC meetings, people being away and with the Okanagan run at the end of the month plus the all British meet this Sunday. Bad timing I quess. The trail will still be there on another weekend.
Cheers
Derek
