Brake Fluid

#1 Post by bf900 » Sat Aug 02, 2014 12:40 am

Looking at doing a brake flush. The manual says DOT 4 but doesn't specify non synthetic. I've read couple forums where people use DOT 3 and even DOT 4 synthetic.

What's the consensus? Use DOT 4 non synthetic? Or is synthetic fine?

It's for a 97 110 300 tdi

Thx

Anything is fine. It is a normal modern vehicle.

I agree either should work fine.
I tend to stay non synethic just because if you are in the middle of no where and suddenly have a need to borrow someone else's or buy some from some tiny store I'm guessing it will be easier finding the standard stuff.
