Hi. I have a 6 cyl Rover that I have had since new in 1968. The dealer did two transmission fixes before I decided to do it myself. I discovered that the clutch mechanism did not conform to my book. The operating lever is straight, there was no spring so I don't know whether I have an early or late model hydrostatic clutch. It has served for 45 years, but I am curious about how that mechanism should be set up, e.g. clutch pedal height, should there be a spring, how does one deal with the huge lever travel when there is a spring. Suggestions appreciated!
