Please Help Identify Diesel Engine...

Folks,
I picked-up what I believe to be a rebuilt 2.5 NA Diesel engine. I took the engine to a local engine rebuild shop and they are more than a little unsure as to what to do with it, and the lack of identifying marks is making it even more challenging. I'm concerned.

I'd like to purchase a shop manual and parts book and was wondering if my fellow roverlanders can help me ID this engine.

Yes, 2.5NA, rebuilt, ex-military. The "Defender 90 & 110 Workshop Manual" series at this link has the rebuilding information. http://www.landroverweb.com/landrover/p ... r-manuals/ It is all very straightforward.

Look for the serial number below the #1 exhaust port or above the lift pump although you won't need it. They are all the same.
