My D2 has ACE and my owners manual specifies either LR PAS fluid or GM part 12345867. Now, I don't mind paying a premium for pretty green and black bottles of genuine whale snot, but I expect that my cost for LR PAS fluid will fall somewhere north of $60 / litre. I intend to flush my PS and ACE systems in the hopes of removing 15 years accumulation of crap from the hydraulics. As a result, I expect that the better part of 2-4 litres of fluid will have a service interval measured in minutes. I'm afraid I'm a bit too cheap to be recycling that much fluid that quickly.
Today I did some searching and found that GM has changed their part number. In Canada, part 12345867 cross references to 10953471. List price is $15 / litre and it seems that dealer stock is quite limited (although it can be ordered with roughly 10 days for delivery). One local dealer had some dusty bottles of this semi-synthetic cold climate power steering fluid (could this be imitation whale snot?) sitting on a shelf. It seems that the Corvette is the only GM product using this fluid and there's not much demand to keep an inventory on hand. I got all I wanted for around $9.00 / litre.
