Low range Freelander and Evoque

#1 Post by Crs » Sun Jun 16, 2013 5:07 pm

I was just reading that the RRE and F2 will be getting a new 9 speed automatic transmission later this year. While it does offer slightly taller gears for quiet, economical high speed cruising, it will also offer MUCH lower low gears than they have now. Finally they will get the off road advantage of "low range," but still without the traditional transfer case.

Hopefully we'll see some of these out on the trail soon. I've never seen an Evoque on one of our jaunts, and the only Freelanders have been dealer ones. (They were still mighty impressive off road, especially when cocking a tyre to shoulder height!)
