Door help

#1 Post by Arcades » Thu May 02, 2013 9:23 pm

When I first got my defender, I started having a problem with my drivers door closing... You really had to slam it to get it to fully close... In fact helpfully hands put a nice dent in it trying to close it... So I tried having it adjusted, found some play on the hinges so replaced the hinges and latch with a brand new set both sides...( had a leak issue so changed to new door seals as well).. For some reason the door latch needs four shims in it to close properly and even now it still rubs a bit on the latch metal..the passengers side door, which always closed like a dream only had two shims. So I did the hinges and seal on both sides and now the drivers door borderline closes and I'm having trouble with the passengers door now!

Anybody with experience have any suggestions? I could really use a hand :x

Just keep adjusting.... The build accuracy of these trucks is plus or minus a couple of inches....
