Anybody up for an off road drive in a few weeks?
Since I own the the best off road truck made I thought I ought to do some off road truck driving and was wondering if anybody else was interested in going as well. I was thinking something on a Saturday in a couple of weeks, maybe early to mid April. Just a local (I'm in Victoria) adventure, picnic or barbeque lunch half way though and back home before dark. I'm relatively new to this, so nothing too insanely hard, I'd rather not be breaking parts just yet, but I have a Land Rover, so I don't want it to be too easy either. Anybody interested?

Would love to get the truck out for a bit of a run, but there is still a bit to do to her before I will feel more confident in her reliability out in the boonies. would like to get out to some meets, hopefully towards late spring sometime, like the Beacon hill picnic, or some of the other shows, park her right next to someones shiny E-Type and make their paint shine that much more.

Next event
Hello Gents.
There are lots of good to excellant no scratch runs around Duncan and area. Unfortunatly the low snow levels will not let us up any of them for at least 2 or 3 or more weeks ( if it keeps melting that is.)
I guess we will have to pick a date 3 or so weeks from now and try to get a large showing of rovers out for a drive and picnic lunch.
Lately the number of trucks that actually show up for a drive or a coffee meet has been kid of poor.
Hopefully with enough advance notice we can get everybody out for a really good fun driving day.
If that does not work the next event I know of will be a British car show and shine near Victoria
On Sunday April 17th 2011 the south island chapter of the Old British car club of BC. will hold their annual Spring Show and Shine and Swap Meet from 10:00 to 3:00 at Sanichton Acres. Which is out towards the Victoria Ferry terminal.
. The cost is only $3.00 to enter and last year had 8? or so landrovers in attendance. Sanichton Acres is a nice location with lots of historic items to check out. Any British car is welcome it does not have to be old and crusty.
Talk with you later Victor

Stay on the main roads till they are dug out. None of it is scratchy unless you choose to drive down a branch encroached track. Slipping into a ditch is entirely up to your driving skill on snow and the tires.david.randall wrote:Greg, how far can you drive up Provost towards Mt. Sicker before the way gets "scratchy"?
