Founders Day who from the island.

Just wondering if I can ask a big favor from anyone going to Founders day from the island. Iam not able to make it,but I need a set of disco front seats picked up and broought back. If anyone is willing,send me a PM or just reply.

Tony from iron goat 4x4 has the seats and said he can pass them on to anyone that can bring them back over. I am in Victoria, or can pick them up from you depending on where on the island you are.

I'VE GOT A COUPLE OF dISCOVERY SEATS IN THE BACK OF MY AND rOVER and if I wasn't typing in Caps, you'd probably understand me. I need to know where to unload them tomorrow morning or early afternoon as I pass through on my way home.

I'll be check here in the morning before I leave to see if there's an answer.

Couldn't find a "Franko" in the book so still have the Disco seats. I've moved them into the barn in the mean time but at least they're on the island.

Hmm yes and no. I work out on keating cross ( central Sannich ) from 8-430.
You could drop them off at my work,or I could try and meet you some place closer on my way home.

Hey Franko and all other rover lovers in Victoria we should try and have a coffee or pub meet down there it has been a while since we met up on the southern part of the Island.
Maybe check out Mats 88 project it should be almost done by now?
We had lunch at a pub very close to were he was restoring it. I can not remember exactlly where we were. 4 mile pub? 6 mile pub?
Possibly Greg could bring your seats down then. A Saturday afternoon might work. Maybe Feb 19th? If any one is interested speak up.
If that does not work you might have to drive over the Malahat to come get your seats. I would not leave them in Gregs barn for very long. Last time I was in there digging for parts I had to fight off a few rats . They were fairly tough looking. Might have been Norway Rats? Those seats wont last long. Victor

Sounds like a plan to me, I live very close to the 4 mile pub so that could work or even the 6 mile.
But yes I should just make the drive to duncan really is not that far.
But i wonder will they fit in my jetta lol

Victor. I think this is a damn good Idea. You and Greg could hold franko's seats hostage until he pays his initiation dues. Don't worry franko it won't cost you much, maybe a couple of rounds. Otherwise You may find your seats inhabited by those damn Norwegian rats that Greg raises in his barn. I've seen those buggers and they are meanene!!!! :-)
Can someone put this on the Yahoo Van Isle Land Rover Network site. How about 1400 (2 pm) on the 19 of February. Lets try to get as many folks out as we can. Maybe Greg can threaten people with his pet rats to get them out.

Hi Derek Okay where should we meet? Greg thought Matts truck was over near Oak bay. I can not remember any more that was a few years ago.
Any where is good except that car themed place we have meet at before. Did not think much of that.
I do not even know if Matt comes on here anymore? Guess we should try and contact him if we are going to go and critize the work he has done on his restoration.
Victor PS. Greg was going to try and contact JD and see if he could take the seats back with him to Victoria. He is up this way working on his sail boat at Maple Bay fairly often. It would be good if he did while the seats are still in one piece.

Hi Guys,

Just saw this posting. I'm in for a coffe/pub get together any time.
My truck is STILL not done. Turns out buying/renovating a house, raising a toddler and now having another one on the way kinda slows down the hobbies!
The truck runs and is mechanically finished I just need to get someone to paint the rear tub,seat box and all the small panels(which is proving harder than I thought)
My truck is in Cadboro Bay, the pub we met at last time is called Smugglers Cove just down the hill from UVIC. I'm not picky about where we meet.
