Hello,
I'm considering bringing my 2006 LR3 from Vancouver to LA. I checked the Vehicle Emission Control Information label under the hood and it says it conforms to California Regulations applicable to 2006 model year. I contacted the California Air Resources Board (ARB) and they confirmed that the LR3 i have looks good to be registered there. The also suggested I check check the safety certification label as well, the vehicle must meet US DOT safety requirements in order to be registered in CA.
Does anyone know where I could locate this information? Is there a label that indicates this information?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Dean

I believe it is part of the VIN #:
Safety Compliance Certification Label
(SCC) An American label which must be attached to the lower half of the left-hand front door lock facing; specifies the VIN and other relevant information

Thank you for a reply...yes, the trick is to, as i found out, is to get a letter of compliance from my vehicle's manufacturer stating on
> company letterhead that it was "made to comply with all CMVSS at time of
> manufacture and complies with all applicable FMVSS except. . . (FMVSS
> standards listed after) and that it is not a salvage or reconstructed
