Hi,
Question: I have a 1984 defender 130, original factory build. It is a great mixup of series/defender bits and bobs due to its crossover year. My question is can I put disco rims on it. Currently it has the older style rubber caps exposed which I assume would get covered over with the disco rims. i am not sure however, thus the question. I am hoping to update her a little as I am tired of people saying, what a great old truck! not that I mind the reference having driven series trucks forever, but to me this is a modern vehicle complete with stereo and aircon! old truck my ass.
Thanks!
gerald

The Disco alloy rims will hit the drive member bolt heads on the front wheels as they are thicker than the newer ones. Disco steel rims are OK.
You either grind/machine some of the wheel away or add small spacers.
These are the kind of spacers, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LAND-ROVER-DEFEND ... 286.c0.m14
edit: they also use different nuts.

Rim to Win
I've got 5 wheels from an RR classic that need new homes. If anyone is doing the spacer thing these will work for you.
