200tdi electrical
Anyone know roughly how long my 200 tdi will run with no alternator (belt)?
Is it like 5 minutes or five hours? I want to take the 90 into Rovertech from Downtown.... but I also want to get there :D
I presume it only needs to power the pump slolenoid?
Thanks.

I can't picture the belt configuration on the 200tdi but if the belt also turns the water pump and you don't have the belt then you will not get more than a few minutes before risking damage. If it is a separate belt then the alternator is not required unless you are running at night and need lights et al.

Pretty much forever as long as you don't drain the battery. The solenoid will activate with very low voltage.
In addition, it takes less than a minute to take the plunger out of the solenoid and you can run with no battery, if you like......
FYI, I ran without an alternator for a day this last summer. No problemo.
