Re: Any interest in a mobile Mechanic?

So I have been having some issues with my defender and have been talking with my buddy who is a veteran mechanic/ heavy duty mechanic/ millwright/welder fabricator. He's been around the block and can do anything even custom work. Mostly did industrial stuff in the oil patch. Anyways he's living on ...

Founders Day 2017 - campsite recommendations

I live 5 mins from the venue. If anyone wants to camp for free in my yard they are welcome. I warn you though, you may be expected to stay up a little bit, drink my wine or beer and talk about travel and Land Rovers.

I swapped in the blower motor and squirrel cage from a Ford Laser on my 110. Just needed to modify the box a little. I'm thinking if you find something of a similar size at a wrecker you can make it work.

NW Overland Rally 2016

Hi Everyone, Just a couple of weeks until this year's NW Overland Rally. June 23-26 This year I've made some changes: 1. The motorbikes have been moved to a separate field, so the event will be a lot quieter and less chaotic. 2. I've moved the rally to an adjacent field with more trees around it to ...

I've had them apart. They look fine. Greasy and perfect. Any thoughts what could make the sound when I depress the clutch pedal when slowing down?

Yes that was what I thought but then I started to get this juddering when slowing down. Plus I get a faint "cooked bearing" smell when I exit the vehicle.

Strange loud noise. Need help.

Ok so this has been odd. In our Series 1 (86") as we were driving east through turkey we experienced a loud Squeeling noise coming from the front of the drivetrain. Sounded like a bearing starting to go. It only happened with the front hubs unlocked. When I locked the front hubs the sound went away....

Pulled a big chunk of silicon out of the line going into the fuel filter. Matches the silicon holding the sender unit in the tank. Also put in bigger jets. Distributor seems ok. Not sure how to check the coil.

Yeah, that's what I figured after looking at vids online. The rivets look pretty well sealed from when I had the rims sand blasted and repainted. So I mounted the tires yesterday. I will monitor the pressure and see if there is any leakage. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/03/01/1f826e26451110ba...
