Richard,

The tick will likely be a lifter. Does it only do it cold or all the time? Either way, it might be some crap stuck in a lifter. Try a flush kit when you switch over to the heavier oil for the summer. Might help. Did for me last year. :P

Gotta watch out at Lordco, as some branches charge way more than others to mix up rattle cans. I got this at the Surrey King George store for way less than some other Lordco stores wanted.

Battery flat? Sounds more like the alternator to me. I’d charge the battery and check to see if the alternator works.

Battery have charge? Check the tiny ground wire under the points plate for a break (voice of experience).

So here is the final setup. I also drilled and mounted two pieces of 1"x2" scrap wood, opposite each other, along the inside the length of the tube, to improve the tumbling action. These 5.5 inch rims will fit 235/85/16 and 7.50/16 tires. Anything wider could be an issue.
