Alignment...

What should my alignment be set at on my 1986 d90?
I've heard straight, toe in and toe out.
And everything from an inch to 1.5mm depending where I look.

Any other tips would be apriciated an I'm going to try to do this in my carport. I couldn't do a worse job than the crap job my local alignment shop did last year. I've scrubbed through 2 pair of tires on the front since then!
