I'm in the midst of getting my 2006 gm 4.3 v6 mounted in my truck. I'm looking for a bit of hood clearance in order to get the engine driveline angles where I want them.
When it comes to chev stuff my google-Fu sucks. Anyone know of low profile air intake options. I've found a few 'universal' for TBI or carb engines but mine is MPFI. If anyone is well versed in chev stuff I'd live to get some leads on good resources.
GM engine question
Re: GM engine question
Are you using a 4.3 vortec? I had one in an s-10 and it was pretty low profile as is, certainly lower than the TBI manifold.
Also, if you are using a 4.3, you could go to the 4.8 v8, which is a WAY better engine in every regard.

But also longer and the 4.3 barely squeezes in as is. I'm going to try to get the max height of the engine with hood closed figured out then recheck my angles and see where I stand. The air intake itself isn't too high but there is a box of some sort attached that adds a couple of inches
