Hi Herman, The original Solex is very hard to find. You can find a made-in-China Solex clone, but they are terrible, I tried one and it fell apart on the highway. Only downside to my old Trucklites is the lens is not heated. So they will cover in snow and ice in extreme conditions.

I put Trucklite LEDs in my 110. Very good distance. I’ve also heard good reviews on the JW Speaker ones that Don at Rovalution sells.

I replaced one of those engines in my Explorer as just changing the timing belt required multiple expensive tools. PITA. How hard would it be to import the appropriate aged Diesel engine from Europe?

I don't think I'd want power steering in a series truck, but for some of my trucks the steering is kind of old and crusty/rusty so I was just curious.

It’s not a performance vehicle, so if it’s strictly for trundling down the road, any tire in the above size will work. Get a basic street tire designed for pickup trucks and it should be quiet and durable.

He also makes new body panels, frames, and bulkheads. He has original LR tooling from the 50s. His family was a supplier to LR in Asia from the 50s-70s.
