Series one distributor Lucas DM2

Looking for a series one distributor, the Lucas DM2 was fitted to the 2L series ones and the early series 2’s with the 2.0L motor. My vacuum advance doesn’t work so I’m hoping someone has a working vacuum advance or complete distributor.

Technically there are no “stock” free wheel hubs. These would have been fitted by the dealer or owner not by Land Rover. The only Land Rover approved free wheel hubs were made by MAP.

Usually no. series 3 trucks have 24 spline axle shafts and 2a trucks had 10 spline axles. Although, someone could have swapped your axle at some point. Just take the hub cap off the front axle and see how many splines they have.

That’s not a Land Rover carb in the ad above. Your best bet is to get a new Weber 34ich carb for around $200. Unless you want to spend around $500+ for a rebuilt original solex.

As mentioned above, the Weber 34ich is the easiest direct replacement carb for the series one 2L engines. Try Jeremy @ Rocky Mountain parts he can get the new Weber kit for you I’m sure.

I have a decent pair of 2nd row doors. Skins are good, no galvanic bubbles and complete with glass. The bottoms will need the typical repair/replacement though. (SOLD) $300

Looking for a nice, straight rear tub for an 88” project I’m doing. I’ve already got tubs that need work, but I’m willing to pay for a straight tub that doesn’t need any major bodyworkto the aluminum. The galvy trim condition doesn’t matter, I will be re galvanizing everything.

After trying 2 flat top rads in my 1966 truck I gave up and switched to a new series three style rad. It’s been fine for the last 8 years. Keep in mind if you use the later rad, you’ll also need the series 3 top and bottom hoses and a series 3 rad shroud as well.

Looks great Colin, this is going to be a nice truck! Don’t worry too much about the springs until you’ve completely assembled the truck. Leave the shackles just snugged up with the bolts and the nuts hand tight. They will settle and move a lot once you have all the weight in the truck and drive it. ...

My Fairey O.D. is quiet, not a quiet as my fancy roamerdrive but defiantly doesn’t whine. Some of the noise can be the O.D. main gear bedding in with the transfer case. After a few hundred miles it should settle down.
