Re: Defender wheel bearings

I try to stick with a name brand like Timkin. I think I went with a Bearmach kit and the bearings were Timken. If memory serves me, the early defenders have a different part number front and rear kits. Pretty sure the bearing are all the same, maybe seals are different? I think the later defenders a...

Wanted: Engine for my blown 4.4 in my LR3

So I bought an LR3 with a seized 4.4 V8.

I'm looking for a known runner 4.4, but if I came across a supercharged 4.2 or 5.0 I'd have to consider it.

Does anyone know how big of a mug will fit in the lr4 cup holder, or could an LR4 owner put a tape measure on their cup holder for me?

Trying to see if a certain gift is functional or needs to be returned.

bsa_m21 - roll bars

I haven't used that stuff on a rover, but did use it on an S-10 I had. It worked for about a week then started leaking again at the same spot. When I did finally dig into the engine I had to toss the water pump and radiator which were otherwise fine. It won't save you months, but might save you week...

Hi folks,

When marking your item or vehicle sold, it really helps to keep the title the same and just add sold at the end. That way if others are trying to figure out pricing it makes it easier to find comparable ads.

I did it. It's not too bad. I stuck with the lt77. If I was doing it again I'd go for the r380 as getting the rear oil seal to work with the 2.5 back plate was a bit tricky.

Don't use the 2.5 fuel filter. It's a silly setup.

I think I would loop it. I'm not sure what the thermostat looks like internally and plugging the lines could stop the oil flow. A hose connecting the lines (which will have to be rated for hot oil and at pressure) would just be a really poor cooler and so would leave the rest of the system the same.

Not so sure about that. It would take some work on the frame to mount it, but it could probably be done. I don’t think it would be much of an improvement though. The p38 box mounts pretty well on the outside of the frame and would get you power steering.
