Okay we need a list now:

Me - all seats and controls, internal door hardware, rear door skin, trans/transfer case (don't need anything from engine), wheels, clock spring, maybe other stuff as I get into it.
bsa_m21 - roll bars
landcrabmechanic - springs, rear a-frame mount, radius arms

98 Disco 1 parts

I brought home a parts truck over the weekend. It's pretty high mileage, has some click clunks in the front axle, a 4.0 with a "blown head gasket" ie cracked block, and the frame has rust holes. I'll be pulling the parts I want over the coming weeks, but if anybody needs something let me know in the...

I haven't used that stuff on a rover, but did use it on an S-10 I had. It worked for about a week then started leaking again at the same spot. When I did finally dig into the engine I had to toss the water pump and radiator which were otherwise fine. It won't save you months, but might save you week...

Marking items sold

Hi folks,

When marking your item or vehicle sold, it really helps to keep the title the same and just add sold at the end. That way if others are trying to figure out pricing it makes it easier to find comparable ads.

Not sure at this point. The previous owner seemed to think a rod had let go, which doesn't make any sense to me. Plan right now is get it out, pull the pan, and have a look. I did it. It's not too bad. I stuck with the lt77. If I was doing it again I'd go for the r380 as getting the rear oil seal to work with the 2.5 back plate was a bit tricky.

Don't use the 2.5 fuel filter. It's a silly setup.

Re: Oil cooler

I think I would loop it. I'm not sure what the thermostat looks like internally and plugging the lines could stop the oil flow. A hose connecting the lines (which will have to be rated for hot oil and at pressure) would just be a really poor cooler and so would leave the rest of the system the same.

Not so sure about that. It would take some work on the frame to mount it, but it could probably be done. I don’t think it would be much of an improvement though. The p38 box mounts pretty well on the outside of the frame and would get you power steering.
