Flywheel housing should cover what you need for 4 cylinder land rovers from the 50's to the early 90's.

You can build a nice 2.5L gas motor using the diesel block, crank, con rods, pistons, camshaft and mixing that with the gas timing parts and casing and the gas head.

That depends if it is a 3 or 5 main to some extent. A surprising number of parts swap between all the way from the 2.25 up to the 200tdi.

There are quite a few Isuzu motors on ebay but no 4bd1T motors and one 4bd2T in Florida for $4000 US which is way too much.

These are supposed to be really common easy to find and cheap motors... I think that day has passed.

It can be a bit tricky but if you lay down beside the rover and have a friend shuttle it back and forth a bit with the engine you will see the axle housings rotate a bit if the bushings are worn. You should then be able to figure out which bushings are the problem. Failing that get under there with ...

Re: Advice on RRC Suspension and tires

I have tried 235/85/16 tires on my 1993 RRC and they fit and don't contact anything under full articulation when on Series/Defender Stock 5.5in wide rims. However, they do make contact when on the stock RRC rims. I suspect that Wolf/130 rims would be best.

The above is with stock suspension.

Not sure if this is relevant or not but my old 1987 RRC had a water line to the throttle body to prevent icing. Perhaps there is something similar on this rover and it is leaking into the air stream. Seems very unlikely but thought I'd throw it out there.
