Re: Best winter car camping spots?!

Hi Matt ,that is a pretty tough set of requirements this time of year. I am in Mission and we had snow for a couple of hours today, there a number of spots up West Harrison that should be pretty quiet this time of year. Road conditions are likely to be marginal, but up to Doctors Creek/Bay and beyon...

Re: Harrison West Run - Sunday 30th Dec 2018

Well I now have a nice 18 in square piece of 3/4 in ply added to my kit, just because of that.

All in all the Disco came through pretty well, a few niggling leftover issues to clean up but nothing to serious. Body damage is coming along nicely, it just needs to stop raining.

Re: Harrison West Run - Sunday 30th Dec 2018

Well the easy fixes are done new tire and alignment completed, visual undercarriage inspection done. No new damage found, the muffler has a good sized dent and I have a bit more exhaust noise but that muffler had already had a muffler tape repair so time for new one. The body damage is annoying more...

An ABS by failure itself will not cause the pedal to go to the floor, the Master cylinder is the mostly likely culprit. Start very simple : Check your brake fluid - do you have any and is it topped up If it is good then get in start up your truck and step on the brake If it goes to the floor or is m...

Good day and the final flat tire got on the tow truck at 8:30. He had a good spare but the locking nut key broke so no getting the tire off. The tow truck removal tools were too small for land rover wheel nuts. We tried about 12 plugs but could not get the tire to hold air, two bad slits. The 4 frie...

You should be able to put full hose flow through the heater. There is no valve in it. Make sure you pull the block drain on the engine and flush it out well.
Did not know that - I prefer to err on the side of caution though so I still go pretty easy on the water pressure

Re: 300TDi overheating

Flush your engine while the rad is out, pop your thermostat out Set your heater to maximum hot Garden hose LOW pressure may 1/2 to 3/4 turn of the tap,you might need more but not a lot. My Disco V8 took about 2/3rds of turn to get good flow. Start with the top hose and let it run until it clear, the...

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but how doable is it to travel for the north tip down along the west side. Along time ago you could cover a lot of that on FSR's. It is that still possible or it is pretty closed off, gates, decommissioned roads etc ?
