Importing a Vehicle

Quick question for anyone with experience importing a vehicle into Canada. Does a person need to put tax on it when bringing it into the country? Say I buy a LR overseas and ship it here. I’ll have already paid tax on it where I bought it. Seems absurd that I’d be double taxed upon bringing it here....

Re: “No Limits” Edition D90?

Oops, it’s a 1998 and not a 2002. But still though, special edition or not... 3000 km on the dial. Holy crap!!

“No Limits” Edition D90?

Searching used car listings in Europe and came across an oddity. It’s a 2002 D90 cabrio with just 3,000 original km on it and the price isn’t that bad (35,000 Euros). Claims to be from a private collection and the photos show it’s immaculate. The description claims it’s a rare “No Limits” edition an...

LR4 Suspension Fault

Get a text from my wife today that our 2012 LR4 (50,000 km) is displaying the following message: "Suspension Fault: Normal Height Only" Then when driving down the highway the vehicle also started making a loud rumble sound and a vibration she could feel in her seat. Does anyone have experience with ...

Re: Worth Importing Defender P/U?

Good to know! I figured a pick up bodied Defender would fetch a better price lol. Glad I asked. Not sure what engine it has. Seller says it's a petrol engine with 400-500hp. Unsure if that's a typo or is he dropped something insane under the hood. Sent him an email and waiting for a reply. Here's th...

Worth Importing Defender P/U?

Hi all. Currently working in the Middle East and this place seems a potential gold mine for older Defenders. Might go have a look at a 1988 Defender Pick-up for sale, asking the equivalent of $13,000 USD. Low mileage, no rust (go figure... it's a desert vehicle lol) and the body looks like new. So i...

Duncan area

Wondering if anyone in the area might be up for a jaunt one day in the coming weeks?

Pair of black RRs on Mt. Prevost

Went up the mountain today to play in the snow. On the way up passed a family split up among 2 black Range Rovers on their way down.

Re: Cowichan Vally Land Rover Rally

Sorry I wasn't able to come by for a hello at the camp site, too busy with last minute prep for our move. Where abouts did you all go? Prevost, Sicker, somewhere else? I'm in town a few more weeks before I head back to work. If anyone is looking for a little day trip in the sticks and has an area in...

Re: Cowichan Vally Land Rover Rally

Greg do you own the light blue Defender I've seen on Lakes Rd a few times? Well! About 18 months ago I stopped driving my Series 2A 109 SW which you might call light blue. Then Yes! Or it might be Victor with his same colour light blue Series 2. Now I drive the military olive drab Land Rover 90. Co...

Re: Cowichan Vally Land Rover Rally

I might be able to make the event, but no guarantee. We're moving from Duncan to Shawnigan on the 10th so last minute packing shenanigans might take precedence lol. However.... it would be a great chance for me to really see what my LR4 can do. Got a white one for the plain reason that it'll hide sc...

Re: Rover newbie

I might have seen a muny crew out there. A white pickup with a wide utility box thing on the back... almost looked like a Telus service truck lol. Probably forestry boys. But if it was a muny truck he was a cut-block away so I was safe. I saw a sign at the start of the road warning all 4x4/atv/bike ...

Rover newbie

Hey guys & gals. After many years of dreaming, last Friday I finally joined the Land Rover community with my new pride and joy... a 2012 LR4. Very excited!! I used to be an avid 4x4 guy about a decade ago with my trust old bone-stock '86 CJ7 but it's been a while. So this morning I got up nice and e...
